Homework Tues 10/9

Todays classwork/homework is pg. 64, #4, 5, and 6. (Extension: pg. 65, OYO)
Be able to find the Mean Absolute Deviation (M.A.D.) , the average distance or amount a set of data is from its mean. Useful when comparing variation or spread of different sets of data from their own means.
To calculate the MAD:
1) Find the mean of the data set
2) Find each difference of the data from the mean (subtract each number and the mean. Some will be negative and some positive)
3) Find the absolute value of each of the differences (make each value a positive)
4) Find the mean of the absolute value differences (average the all differences)
