Today we began Unit 5 Patterns in Space by classifying and constructing models of space-shapes. We worked on pg. 333, #8, which we will complete in class on Monday.

Vocabulary:
Plane-shape - two-dimensional shape
Space-shape - three-dimensional shape
solid - 3-dimensional object with filled interior
shell - 3-dimensional object with an empty interior
net - flat diagram that can be folded to make a 3-dimensional shell
skeleton - 3-dimensional frame that shows the edges and vertices of an object
prism - two polygon bases (top and bottom) with rectangular sides
pyramid - polygon base with triangular sides
polygon - closed plane figure with edges created out of line segments that meet at vertices
