Homework Thurs. 11/17

Todays homework is to finish the handouts A-34, A-37 and A-40, A-41 in order to pass in for Monday 11/21. We will be working on solving equations through the next class.

To get help on how to solve these kinds of linear equations (those with a variable to the first power) check out this link or you could check this link.

Test Today

Todays work will be the test over Unit 2, lessons 1 to 3.

Be prepared to write equations as rules and use these equations to solve problems.

Homework Tues. 11/8

Today's homework is on pg. 132-134, #1, 2, and 4

Prepare for the test over Unit 2, Lessons, 1-3, on Thursday.

Friday, November 04, 2005

Homework Fri. 11/4

Today's homework is pg. 122-124, #1 to 7.

Be able to write equations and use them to solve the problems given. Use rules to summarize patterns relating variables. Your calculator will allow you to enter equations in Y=X form, then create tables of x,y results or create graphs (plots) of the solutions to the equations.

Creating and Problem Solving with Graphing Calculators

Today we created and used tables on your TI-84 plus by:

1) Enter an equation (rule) using the Y= key. Make sure that the equation in in y=x form.
2) Press 2nd-TABLE (Display Table) to see the table of X and Y values. You can scroll up or down to see other values.
3) You can use 2nd-TBLSET (Table Setup) to change the starting value or intervals for x that the table is displayed with.

In class, we practiced this during the short period on pg. 127, #2 (not due for HW).
