Test 3/28

Today we did the test over Unit 4, Discrete Math problems. We also received Book "B" after handing in Book "A". We will be starting Unit 5 - a geometry unit on Thursday 3/30.

Homework 3/24

Today we prepared for the quiz on Tuesday over Discrete Math problems such as identifying and tracing Euler circuits and paths, and coloring bordered points (vertices), lines (edges) and flat surfaces (faces) of two and three dimensional shapes with as few different colors as possible. From the handout masters, do numbered pages 92, 95, 96, 97, 110, and 99 for next class. Be able to "Eulerize" or create a circuit from a path, and create matrices (plural of matrix) to determine the type of vertex edge graph you have.

Bring your book "A" covering the first four units, to turn in for book "B" covering the last three units.

Homework 3/22

Todays homework is pg. 266, create a matrix for each shape to determine whether the figure is a path, circuit, or requires retracing to construct, pg. 284, #3b, and pg. 290, #4, both of which you should find the minimum number of different colors so that bordering areas don't have the same color.

We also recieved the review for the test over this Unit 4 which will be on Tuesday 3/29. Do the first page, Unit 4, Lesson 1 review.

You will be passing in your Book "A" on Tuesday and recieve Book "B" for the rest of the year.

Homework 3/20

Today we examined Discrete Math problems, looking for optimal (best) solutions. Euler Paths traced each edge of the Vertex-Edge Graph exactly once, completing the shape. The Euler Circuits were Euler Paths that could be drawn, including begining and ending at the same point.

For Blue-1, the homework is:
pg. 251, #2a and 3,
pg. 255, #1,2,
pg. 256, #5,
pg. 257, the checkpoint,
and pg. 258, the "On Your Own" section.

For Blue-2, and Blue-3 the homework is:
pg. 252, #3,
pg. 255, # 1 b,c and 2a,b,c
pg 257, the checkpoint,
and pg. 258, the "On Your Own" section.

Test 3/14

Today we did the test over Unit 3, Lesson 3 in which you must be able to solve linear equations and inequalities, solve systems of equations for (x, y) and use these techniques to solve problems involving modeling with equations two situations and choosing the appropriate one. Be able to use algebraic logic, graphs, and tables on your calculator to solve for the unknown.

In Class work Fri. 3/10

Today we prepared for the test on Tuesday on solving linear equations and solving systems of linear equations by using Algebraic rules, Tables and Graphs. Be ready to use multiple methods to solve equations. You will also have to use these techniques to solve word problems, similar to the problems we did in class today, such as determining the best buy or under what conditions one of two situations are appropriate. We worked on and completed in class pg. 231, #2 and pg. 232, #4.

Todays homework is pg. 228, #4 at the top of the page, the "On Your Own" question on pages 228-229, and pg. 229, #1. except for Blue-2, which didn't get there yet. Be able to solve systems of equations using tables and graphs to answer the questions.
