In Class Fri 1/30

Today in class, we looked at examples of the technical writing project due after February vacation. We created graphs using the NeoOffice spreadsheet. Using the graphing calculator, we did a linear regression for the data from yesterdays graphing example, discussed correlation, and found the best fit line for the data to make predictions. On pg. 164 OYO, we found a best fit line and compared equations. On pg. 165, we graphed the data and found the centroid. On pg. 167, we discussed how to choose which predictive line is best.

Today Blue 3 class did the Unit 2, Lesson 4 assessment as the Semester 1 exam. Blue 4 finished their preparations for their assessment to be given Friday, and worked on either ALEKS.com OR pg. 154, #1,2, and 3.

White 4 began examining families of functions, pg. 144-146, Experiment #1, 2, 3, and 4. Graph each of the equations on an x-y axis, label the solution graphed with its equation, and describe it as a linear, quadratic, inverse, or exponential function. This will continue on Thursday.
