Today we worked the correlation project, parts 1,2,3 and 4. Be able to create equations in y = a + bx form from tables and graphs to predict values from given data. Using the graphing calculator, we did a linear regression for the data from a graphing example, discussed correlation, and found the best fit line for the data to make predictions.

Today we worked on the Correlation project after discussing part 2, finding the summary statistics and outliers for the data, and part 3, creating the scatterplot of the relationship, the least squares regression line, and the box and whisker plots showing center and spread for both x and y data.

We then did the assessment review using the handout on families of functions (pg. 40, 23, 61, and 70 from the 2nd edition text and the review B from the resource guide). Students are working families of functions, studying Linear, Quadratic, Inverse, and Exponential functions. Using their book, work in class on pages 142-153, #1, 3, and 4, where we applied what we know about equation types and families of functions to solve some problems. This continues next class where we will be working on Pg. 147, #1, pg. 148, #2 and 3, and pg. 150, #5.
