Homework Fri 3/30

Todays homework is pg. 341-342, #1, 2, and 3, with #4 as a challenge problem. Use isometric and square dot paper to answer the questions.

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

In Class Wed. 3/28

Today we completed pg. 333, #8, and some started using isometric projections on pg. 341-342, #1 and 2. These will continue on Friday in class in order to create to objects using cubes. Isometric and square dot paper are required to draw your three dimensional and two dimensional projections.

In Class Mon 3/26

Today we began Unit 5 Patterns in Space by classifying and constructing models of space-shapes. We worked on pg. 327, #2 and pg. 333, #8, which we will complete in class on Wednesday.

Vocabulary:
Plane-shape - two-dimensional shape
Space-shape - three-dimensional shape
solid - 3-dimensional object with filled interior
shell - 3-dimensional object with an empty interior
net - flat diagram that can be folded to make a 3-dimensional shell
skeleton - 3-dimensional frame that shows the edges and vertices of an object
prism - two polygon bases (top and bottom) with rectangular sides
pyramid - polygon base with triangular sides
polygon - closed plane figure with edges created out of line segments that meet at vertices

Homework Tues. 3/20

Today we worked on creating matrices, pg. 269, #2, built models using pg. 278, #1, used Euler circuits to solve a metal cutting problem, pg, 264, #5, examined features of map making and coloring, using several handouts of maps, and finally from pg. 290, #4, examined coloring vertices, edges, and faces of polyhedra.

Homework Fri 3/16

Todays homework pg. 258, "On Your Own" a and b, #1 a and b, and on pg. 262, #2.

We began Unit 4 by examining efficient routes, Euler circuits and paths. In class we did pg. 251, #2, pg, 252, #5, pg. 255, #1 and 2, pg. 256, #4 and 5, and on pg. 257, the checkpoint.

Wednesday, March 14, 2007

In Class Wed. 3/14

Happy Pi Day! Today we did the Unit 3 (b) assessment. Be able to describe the features of a graph of a linear equation, plot scatterplots and find best fit lines using linear regression, use the equation of that line to make predictions, solve systems of equations problems using graphs, tables, and algebraically, and write equivalent equations. Next class, we will be working on Unit 4 which will include Euler circuits, paths, and Matrices.

Homework Mon 3/12

Todays homework is pg. 244-245, #2 and 3a,b. Prepare for the Unit 3 exam on Wednesday.

Thursday, March 08, 2007

Homework Thurs. 3/8

Todays homework is pg. 231, #2 a+b and pg. 239, #3. We examined equivalent equations, compared systems of equations with one solution, no solutions, and an infinite number of solutions, as well as solving systems of equations problems.

There will be an assessment next Wednesday over this section.

Tuesday, March 06, 2007

Homework Tues. 3/6

Today we began Systems of Linear Equations problems and for homework, pg. 228-229, # 4 and the "On Your Own" section.
